Bystrianska Cave

The Bystrianska cave is one of the most distinguished caves of the Upper Hron River Valley. It is known for its remarkable rock features, development of the underground area and flowstone fills as well as for its ideal climate conditions suitable for speleotherapy treatment.
The show path is 580 metres long and almost flat. The visit lasts for 45 minutes. The approximate temperature is 6°C.

Čiernohronská forest railway and the Forestry Open Air Museum in Vydrovo

Čiernohronská railway runs from Chvatimech to Čierny Balog and Vydrovská valley (14 kilometres) + Dobroč (4km). Our wagon fleet consists of four steam locomotives, five diesel locomotives and a M21 004 rail car. Tourists can enjoy the comfort of a fleet of historic passenger rail cars including a dining car.
Train ride lasts 55 minutes. Forestry Open Air Museum in Vydrovo is an exhibition of nature and its beauties.

Ľupča Castle

The castle has stood upon the hillock of the foothill of Low Tatras since 13th century. It served as a fortress and it used to oversee an important mediaval route called Via magna which lead around the foot of the castle hill. The castle was often occupied by king Sigismund of Luxemburg. The castle is currently owned by Železiarne Podbrezová a.s. (Metalworks Podbrezová Inc.). History enthusiasts can look forwarrd to castle exhibitions with professional commentaries.

The Articled Church in Hronsek

Wooden religious architecture from 1726 is a jewel of Slovak traditional folk manufacture. It is made exclusively out of wood. It was built within a year and a day without main entrance and a spire. Not a single nail was used.Its characteristic appearance is unique for originality, diversified design and unique decorative expressions. It shows evidence of foreign architectural influence such as German, Ionian and Slavic. It has a capacity of 1100 seats.

Špania Dolina
and the Mining museum

Špania Dolina lies in central Slovakia region 728 metres above the sea level on the borderline of the Low Tatras and the Great Fatra. Once famous all around Europe for the rich deposits of copper ore it is now renowned for its peaceful mountain beauties.The top of the Maximilian shaft dump offers a beautiful panoramic view of the surrounding mountains. Mountain trail leads tourists to places of a faded glory of Slovak mining history-shafts and tunnels safely hidden in the surrounding woods.
